MUAY THAI goes to HAWAII

I recently spent time in the Beautiful South Pacific Island of Kauai. Known as the Garden Isle, Kauai should be high on everyone's bucket list! It is impossible to describe it's beauty in words....take it from me - just go there!

bruno1   I met with Bruno Ewald, Chief Instructor of Longman Jiu Jitsu. Bruno is a Gracie Jiu Jitsu Black belt who brought Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to the Hawaiian Islands over 20 years ago! I trained several of his students for quite some time and I found them to be a great group of hard-working, honorable Martial Artist!

bruno2   One young man had just won his first MMA bout and although he had some training in Muay Thai before, was very open minded and anxious to improve. By the time we had finished together he seemed very happy and I left him with plenty to work on.

bruno3   Girls weren't left out either! Bruno's female student was also eager to learn. I was intent on teaching her some devastating Muay Thai Elbow strikes. She learned fast and was easily coached with a positive attitude.

bruno4   One of Bruno's assistant instructors was also a very adept pupil. I loved his positive attitude and hunger for knowledge....I am sure it I had him here in Indianapolis I could make him a World Champion within a Year. He had that much raw potential! But, I'm sure Bruno is busy making him a Great BJJ Black Belt and Instructor.

In all, it was a great time and I got a great feeling of 'Ohana' (family) from the Longman Jiu Jitsu crew. I hope that if they ever find their way to the Mainland, they look us up....it is always wonderful to meet True Martial Artist!
